Spicy Southern Cheese Straws
These go with absolutely everything…
1 2/3 C flour
1 1/4 tsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp salt
8 oz aged cheddar, crumbled
1/2 C butter
Preheat oven to 425°. Mix flour, mustard, salt & cayenne in a bowl. Beat cheese and butter in a mixer until well blended. Reduce mixer speed and gradually add flour mixture until dough comes together. Put dough on wax or parchment paper and roll out to about 1/2 inch thick. Refrigerate dough approximately 15 minutes. Line baking sheet with parchment. Cut dough into manageable strips and shape based on size of desired straws (we like 2 inch straws). Bake 10 minutes.
